A serious security breach occurred at Hisar Airport when three nilgai (blue bulls) entered the premises through an open gate. The incident was captured on the airport's CCTV surveillance system. Following this lapse in security arrangements made by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), local police, AAI officials, and the Wildlife Department sprang into action.

According to airport officials, between April 3 and April 11, 2025, a total of 22 nilgai have been captured within the airport zone. Authorities involved in removing these wild animals from the airport grounds believe that the area is now likely free of nilgai. During subsequent search operations, no additional animals were spotted, leading officials to express confidence that the airport perimeter has been cleared.

The security breach was discussed in a high-level meeting of senior officials in Chandigarh/Panchkula, where the entire incident was reviewed in detail. Following this lapse, security personnel from both police and airport staff have heightened their vigilance around the facility.

During the police team's search operation, the three nilgai managed to reach the runway. Hundreds of staff members pursued the animals in an effort to capture them. After three hours of intensive efforts, all three were finally caught. The animals were then transported out of the airport in vehicles and released in nearby forest areas.

According to government staff stationed at the airport, the incident occurred around 7:15 PM on April 10 when a gate was opened to allow a vehicle entry into the airport. During this period, a security lapse occurred, allowing three nilgai to enter the premises. Staff immediately reported the breach to their senior officers. Upon reviewing CCTV footage, the full account of the incident was revealed.
