In a stunning display of strict traffic enforcement, police in Narnaund area of Hisar district, Haryana have issued challans amounting to a whopping ₹80,000 for just three motorcycles.
According to Sub-Inspector Ramniwas, the Narnaund Traffic In-charge, two of the penalized vehicles were Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles fitted with illegal "firecracker" silencers designed to produce loud explosive sounds. The third motorcycle was fined for operating without a registration number plate.
The enforcement action took place at a police checkpoint near Khanda turn, where officers were conducting routine vehicle inspections. During the operation, they flagged down two Bullet motorcycles - both motorcycles were found to have aftermarket silencers that produce loud, firecracker-like sounds that violate noise pollution norms.
Each of these motorcycles received a heavy fine of ₹27,500, totaling ₹55,000 for the pair. Additionally, a third motorcycle belonging to Rohit from Mirchpur was found with an illegal pressure horn installed, resulting in a ₹25,000 challan.
"We are running a special campaign against motorcycles with firecracker silencers and pressure horns," explained SI Ramniwas. He further issued a stern warning to motorists using black window films on their vehicles, stating that such vehicles would not only face fines but could also be impounded.
