Haryana Cabinet Minister Ranbir Gangwa announced major rural development initiatives during his visit to Sirsa on Sunday. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony held at Kumhar Dharmshala, Gangwa revealed that villages with populations exceeding 10,000 will be developed as "smart villages" with urban-style infrastructure.
Gangwa received a warm welcome from supporters and local residents at the event. Addressing the media, he began by extending New Year greetings on the occasion of Hindu New Year before diving into the government's development agenda.
Budget Focuses on All Sections of Society
The minister highlighted the recently passed ₹2.5 lakh crore state budget, which he said addresses the needs of farmers, laborers, businessmen, and the poor. "The government has started implementing the promises made in its manifesto. The budget includes complete provisions to turn these plans into reality," Gangwa stated.
He emphasized that the budget would accelerate the state's development path, with equal development planned across all regions of Haryana.
Smart Village Initiative
In a significant announcement for rural Haryana, Gangwa revealed plans to transform larger villages. "Villages with populations of 10,000 or more will be developed as smart villages. These villages will see development works similar to urban areas," the minister explained.
The minister also outlined other development priorities, including:
- Repair of all roads within one year
- Construction of one smart road in each district
- Fulfillment of the commitment to provide clean tap water to every household
Strict Instructions to Officials
Responding to questions about urban development, Gangwa said he has issued strict instructions to officials to improve their departments' image. "No negligence in work will be tolerated," he warned, adding that severe action would be taken against officials if any deficiencies were found in construction materials.
Political Comments
The minister also took the opportunity to respond to Congress' criticism of the budget. He claimed the opposition party "has nothing left to do" and has "become a faction rather than a party," with separate groups led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Selja, and Surjewala.
Addressing a question about MSP (Minimum Support Price), Gangwa claimed that "Haryana is the first state in the country where all crops are being purchased at MSP. The situation may be different in Punjab or other states."
When asked about the government's recent removal of certain songs from YouTube, he justified the action by saying only songs "that were not in the interest of youth" had been removed.
Gangwa concluded by stating that the government is ensuring uniform development across the country and state, which has increased public trust in the administration. He attributed BJP's unprecedented third consecutive term in Haryana to this trust and the government's public welfare policies.
