Nuh Hospital to Get Trauma Centre, 200-Bed Upgrade

MLA raises concerns over accident deaths; government assures medical infrastructure boost in rural district

Health Minister Arti Singh Rao

Haryana's Nuh district will soon see significant improvements to its medical infrastructure with the addition of a trauma centre and capacity expansion at the Civil Hospital in Mandikhera village. Health Minister Kumari Arti Singh Rao made this announcement during the ongoing budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.

The hospital's capacity will be doubled from 100 to 200 beds, with official approval already granted for the upgrade. The announcement came in response to concerns raised by Congress MLA Mamman Khan about the high number of accident-related deaths in the district.

Addressing Rural Healthcare Gaps

Khan highlighted the lack of essential infrastructure in Nuh district during the assembly session. "Why is it that Nuh doesn't have a university, a trauma centre, or four-lane roads?" he questioned, pointing to the disparity in development compared to other regions.

While Speaker Harvinder Kalyan restricted the discussion specifically to the hospital's upgrade, Health Minister Rao defended the existing medical infrastructure in the area. "A trauma centre must be available within 60 km. Nuh has four medical care facilities within 45 km," she clarified, while still acknowledging the need for improved services.

Other Major Announcements

Several other significant developments were announced during the session:

Chhath Puja Ghat and Riverfront Development: Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel informed the House that Rs 12.87 crore has been approved for developing a Chhath Puja Ghat and riverfront along the Western Yamuna Canal, from Badi-Majra Bridge to Old Jagadhari-Saharanpur Road. The project will commence within six months.

Tehsil Upgrade for Dharuhera: Responding to BJP MLA Laxman Singh's demand to upgrade Dharuhera sub-tehsil to a subdivision, Revenue Minister Vipul Goel explained that while subdivision status was not possible due to unfulfilled criteria, it could be upgraded to a tehsil.

New De-addiction Centres: Addressing drug abuse concerns raised by INLD's Arjun Chautala, Health Minister Rao announced 46 new de-addiction centres across Haryana. She promised strict monitoring and personal oversight to ensure proper facilities and urged MLAs to support the anti-drug campaign.

The session also saw discussion on land encroachments, with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mahipal Dhanda urging political leaders not to interfere when illegal land occupation is being addressed by enforcement agencies.
