Bahadurgarh Blast: Man Killed Family, Created Explosion to Cover Up Crime

Police arrest Harpal Singh for murdering his wife and three children before setting house on fire due to family property dispute.

Accused Arrested by Haryana Police

The investigation into the explosion at a house in Bahadurgarh's Sector 9 has taken a shocking turn. Police have determined that the blast, which killed four family members, was not an accident but a premeditated crime committed by Harpal Singh, the head of the family.

Harpal Singh, who sustained burn injuries in the incident, has been arrested after police recovered a bottle of petrol and a suicide note from the house.

From Suspected Accident to Murder Case

"On receiving information about the explosion, police reached the house and found Harpal injured. His wife, Sandeep Kaur, and their three children — Chahak (11), Jaskirat (17), and Sukhwinder (9) — were found dead in a room," said Bahadurgarh DCP Mayank Mishra during a press briefing.

Initially considered an accident, the case took a different direction after forensic and ballistic teams investigated the scene. The unusual conditions inside the house prompted a deeper investigation.

Disturbing Details Emerge

According to DCP Mishra, Harpal first drugged his family with sleeping pills, then strangled them with rope before attacking them with a sharp weapon. He then poured oil on them and set them on fire.

"He also attempted to end his life but withdrew due to fear. Later, the fire led to a blast in the internal unit of the air conditioner," the DCP explained.

Suicide Note Points to Motive

During their search, police recovered a bottle of petrol and a 12-page suicide note that revealed Harpal's intentions and alleged motives.

"Harpal, originally from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand, is a transporter. In the note, he made serious allegations against his sister and brother-in-law," said Mishra. "He wrote that he was going to commit suicide with his whole family, blaming his relatives for fraudulently getting his house registered in their name."

The note further stated that Harpal had moved to Bahadurgarh under a false identity to protect his children from his relatives.

Investigation Continues

The accused has reportedly confessed to the crime, though police are still working to determine the exact motive. "Property dispute and business losses may be contributing factors," DCP Mishra added.
