
The Haryana Special Task Force (STF) has shown impressive results in its fight against organized crime across the state between 2020 and 2024. According to information shared by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini during the ongoing budget session in the Haryana Assembly, the STF has not only curbed criminal gangs involved in kidnapping, contract killing, extortion, robbery, and dacoity but has also arrested a total of 1,997 accused criminals.
Major Breakthrough in Capturing Dangerous Criminals
Among those arrested were 542 most wanted criminals, 256 gangsters or gang members, and 1,199 other offenders involved in serious crimes. This represents a significant blow to organized crime networks operating throughout the state.
Chief Minister Saini highlighted the STF's ongoing efforts against organized crime throughout Haryana, pointing to their large-scale operations targeting various criminal gangs. He noted that the task force has shown steady improvement over recent years, with arrest numbers climbing from 325 criminals in 2020 to 227 in 2021, then jumping to 388 in 2022 and 421 in 2023, before reaching an impressive 636 arrests in 2024.
Substantial Weapons Seizure
In addition to apprehending wanted criminals and gangsters, the STF has recovered a large quantity of illegal weapons from those arrested. The seized cache includes 217 pistols, 7 revolvers, 272 country-made pistols, 47 magazines, and more than 2,000 cartridges.
