Seven Subjects Now Mandatory for 9th and 10th Students

New Education Policy 2025 Implementation Begins as Students Must Study Five Core Subjects Plus Language and Vocational Training; Change Effective Immediately.

Following NEP 2020 guidelines, the Haryana government has issued a notification reshaping secondary education. The Board of School Education, Bhiwani, will implement this seven-subject system to provide comprehensive education to students. 

Detailed Subject Framework 

Students must now study:

  • English and Hindi as primary languages
  • Mathematics and Science for technical foundation 
  • Social Science for broader understanding
  • Choice of third language (Sanskrit/Punjabi/Urdu)
  • Vocational subject for practical skills 

Future-Ready Education

This balanced curriculum aims to build strong academic foundation for students of Haryana. New Education Policy 2020 aims to preserve heritage through language options between Sanskrit, Punjabi and Urdu. The new system aims to develop practical skills via vocational training as one vocational subject is made compulsory for Class 9 and 10 students. New Education Policy will prepare students for higher education and different careers. Implementation of New Education Policy in the state will align state's education system with national education standards.
