
The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board has directed market committee secretaries to establish Atal Kisan-Mazdoor Canteens across 40 grain markets. This initiative aims to provide affordable meals to farmers, laborers, and commission agents during the busy harvest seasons.
Operational Details
The canteens will operate during both Rabi and Kharif seasons, running for a total of five months annually:
- Rabi Season: March 15 to May 31
- Kharif Season: September 15 to November 30
- Operating Hours: 11 AM to 3 PM daily
- Cost: Rs 15 per thali (full meal)
Implementation Plan
These canteens will be supervised by the market committees and temporary facilities will be set up where permanent structures are not available. A special committee comprising the market committee's executive engineer, district marketing enforcement officer, and market committee secretary will ensure proper facilities and operations.
Locations and Coverage
The canteens will be established across major market towns including:
- Major Centers: Ambala Cantt, Charki Dadri, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh
- Regional Markets: Bhiwani, Hisar, Palwal
- Rural Markets: Ratia, Uklana, Narnaul
The initiative covers markets across different regions of Haryana, ensuring widespread access to affordable meals.
