77,000 Haryana Families to Get New Homes Under PM Rural Housing Scheme

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Announces Fast-Track Implementation with Geo-Tagging Process to Complete Within 15 Days, New Beneficiary Survey Underway

The Haryana government has cleared the path for providing housing to 77,000 families under the Prime Minister's Rural Housing Scheme. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the geo-tagging process would be completed within 15 days, after which financial assistance for house construction will be released to beneficiaries.

During a state-level DISHA committee meeting in Chandigarh, CM Saini directed district deputy commissioners to fasten the survey process for identifying new eligible beneficiaries. The meeting was attended by key officials including Development and Panchayat Minister Krishna Lal Panwar and MPs Dharmabir Singh, Naveen Jindal, and Congress MP Jaiprakash 'JP'.

Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2.0

The meeting also reviewed progress of the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2.0. Under this scheme, beneficiaries are being allocated plots of 50 square yards in Mahagram Panchayats and 100 square yards in regular gram panchayats. In its first phase, 4,533 families across 62 gram panchayats have already received land allocations, with 1,000 more panchayats selected for the next phase.

Additional Initiatives

The Chief Minister also reviewed the 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' campaign during the meeting, emphasizing strict action against those conducting or facilitating sex determination tests. The Health and Women & Child Development departments have been instructed to take effective measures in this direction.
