
On a regular Sunday afternoon around 3 PM, when Vansh visited his classmates Akshita and vanshika in Pragati Nagar, Sonepat to collect a charger. He parked his motorcycle at the corner of the street. The accused Kuldeep came with his car and started honking repeatedly alleging that the bike was blocking his way. The accused lives near to the victim's house near to railway line.
Escalation to Violence
The accused Kuldeep started verbal dispute over the parking issue and eventually started physically assaulting the two girls who came out to calm the situation. When Vansh intervened to protect his friends, Kuldeep took out a gun out of his car and shot Vansh five times - two in the stomach and one each in the chest, mouth and back. Vansh was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he was declared dead during the treatment.
Vansh- National Powerlifter
Vansh was a promising National powerlifter. A humanities student training at Goldy Gym near Chhotu Ram Chowk, he had taken up powerlifting three years ago and quickly rose to prominence. In 2023, he won gold in the 74-kg category at the district level, followed by a silver medal at a national championship in Delhi in 2024. Akshita, one of the witnesses to the tragedy, was not just his classmate but also his gym partner.
Investigation and Aftermath
The police response was swift, with DCP (Crime) Narender Singh Kadyan, ACP Rahul Dev, Anti-Gangster Unit In-charge Inspector Ajay Dhankar, and SHO Mahesh Kumar arriving at the scene. The accused, identified as Kuldeep, who works in the gravel and dust business in Kundli, fled with his family after locking their home. A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC, and multiple teams are conducting raids to apprehend the suspect.
Personal Tragedy
Adding to the tragedy, Vansh's father was scheduled for a kidney operation in Delhi on the same day his son was murdered. The incident has not only robbed a family of their son but also deprived Indian sports of a promising athlete who had already proven his potential at the national level.
