The Haryana government has launched a groundbreaking housing initiative as part of its commitment to improving citizens' lives and promoting self-reliance. Under this new scheme, the government will provide interest-free loans of ₹2 lakh to workers who currently don't own their homes, helping them transition from tenants to homeowners.

The scheme is designed with worker-friendly terms, offering an extended repayment period of 8 years to make the loan manageable for beneficiaries. This financial assistance can be used either for constructing a new house or purchasing a ready-made home, giving workers the flexibility to choose based on their specific needs and circumstances.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible for this scheme, applicants must meet these criteria:

  • Must be registered workers in Haryana
  • Minimum 5 years of regular registration
  • Age should not exceed 52 years
  • Should not own a house currently
  • Can avail the benefit only once in a lifetime

Important Guidelines

The loan amount can be used for:

  • House construction and Home purchase
  • The benefit cannot be transferred after the worker's death
  • Regular repayment must be made within 8 years
  • Registration must be maintained throughout the loan period

This housing support program is part of Haryana's broader vision to enhance living standards across the state. By providing interest-free loans, the government aims to reduce the financial burden on workers while helping them achieve the dream of home ownership. The scheme reflects the state's commitment to worker welfare and economic empowerment, particularly focusing on those who need housing support the most.
