A major anti-encroachment drive is going to happen in Sonipat district which has sent shockwaves through Salimpur Trauli village. The demolition notices has already been posted on 177 houses as SDM court has issued orders to remove illegal encroachments.  The residents are in state of anxiety and uncertainty as the action is going to take place on February 7.

The issue stems from the village's historical connection to Jua-2 panchayat. Over time, villagers gradually settled on panchayat land and constructed permanent houses. The matter came to light when former sarpanch Raghbir filed a complaint alleging that the entire village was built on illegally occupied land.

According to orders issued by the Sonipat Tehsildar's office, the action will be carried out under the direction of Amit Kumar HCS, Sub-Divisional Officer and Assistant Collector, and First Class Assistant Collector Sonipat. The village sarpanch and chowkidar have been officially notified following the MDM's orders. The case involves litigation between Raghbir, son of Dilbag Singh, and others versus Anuwan.

The administration has instructed the village patwari to be present during the demolition and ensure both parties are informed. Officials have emphasized that the action will be carried out without discrimination and strictly in accordance with court orders. The impending demolition has created tension among villagers, as most families face the prospect of losing their homes.

A significant concern is the humanitarian impact of this action, as thousands of residents who have lived in these homes for years will be displaced. The administration maintains that they are bound by court orders and must proceed with the demolition as directed.
