Haryana Government to File Case Against Kejriwal Over Yamuna Poisoning Allegations

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announces legal action against former Delhi CM Kejriwal for defamatory claims about deliberately contaminating Yamuna river water.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced plans to take legal action against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal following controversial allegations about the Yamuna river. The state government will not only file a complaint with the Election Commission but also pursue a defamation case against Kejriwal for claiming that the BJP-led Haryana government deliberately poisoned the Yamuna's waters.

Yamuna River at Center of Controversy

Chief Minister Saini emphasized the sacred status of the Yamuna River in Haryana's culture, questioning the logic behind Kejriwal's accusations. "The people of Haryana worship the Yamuna as a holy river. Why would they ever poison its waters?" Saini stated, highlighting the deep religious and cultural significance of the river to Haryana's residents.

Failed Promises and Political Accusations

The Chief Minister reminded the public of Kejriwal's unfulfilled 2020 promise regarding the Yamuna's cleanup. According to Saini, Kejriwal had pledged not to seek votes if he failed to prevent the Yamuna's pollution. Saini suggested that these recent allegations appear to be an attempt to mislead Delhi's public in the face of potential electoral defeat.

In a sharp criticism, CM Saini suggested that Kejriwal's allegations indicate a loss of mental balance, possibly due to anticipated electoral losses. He stated that no mentally balanced person would make such serious and unfounded accusations against a neighboring state, especially concerning a sacred river.
