Haryana Government Launches 500 Electric Buses Across 10 Cities

Haryana government introduces 500 electric buses in 10 municipal corporations, featuring advanced tracking systems, CCTV cameras, and zero-emission technology. Ambala will be the first city to launch with five electric buses to operate into existing local routes.

Haryana government has launched 500 electric buses across 10 cities in the state for reducing pollution and promoting eco-friendly transportation. The initiative was launched by Haryana transport Minister Anil Vij, and it aims to provide sustainable and environment friendly transportation to the citizens. These buses are procured under the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan, 2020.

The electric buses will be equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities including CCTV cameras, panic buttons and GPS tracking system and will operate on the city roads soon. Each bus has a sitting capacity of 45 with space for 18 standing passengers. The buses are also equipped with the digital display board for passenger information, announcement speakers and other modern amenities for the convenience of the commuters. 

Initially the electric buses will operate in 10 cities which are Panchkula, Ambala Yamuna Nagar, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Hisar, Gurugram and Faridabad.

The buses are going to be operated by state transport department and will operate on designated routes within the cities. Ambala city will be the first one to launch five electric buses to operate into existing local routes on Republic Day. These electric buses promote zero sound and air pollution, providing citizens with convenient and eco-friendly transportation.
