In a significant development in the Loharu student suicide case that has shaken Haryana's educational community, the Bhiwani police have made their first arrest. Rahul, son of college owner Hanuman and a resident of Shyam Kalan village in Charkhi Dadri district, was taken into custody following allegations of harassment that led to the death of Diksha, a BA final-year student.

Diksha, a 22-year-old Dalit student, allegedly committed suicide after being denied permission to take her exams due to unpaid fees. Police have booked the college owner, principal, and two others, and launched a probe. Her father, Jagdish, filed a formal complaint on December 27, implicating multiple parties including the college owner, his family, and the college principal. The complaint specifically highlighted repeated phone calls and harassment by Rahul.

Taking swift action, the police registered a case under Section 108/3 (5) of the BNS at the Loharu Police Station. Bhiwani SP Nitish Aggarwal has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by DSP Tosham, Dalip Kumar, to ensure a thorough investigation.

Police investigations have revealed a previously unknown aspect of the case - a three-month contact history between the accused Rahul and the deceased student. Authorities have seized relevant college records and assured that the investigation will cover all possible angles, with a commitment to take strict action against anyone found involved in the tragic incident.
