In a landmark decision, the Haryana government has approved the 4-laning of the Hodal-Nuh-Pataudi-Patauda road, a critical infrastructure project aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and transportation efficiency. The project, estimated at Rs 616.01 crore, was sanctioned during a Standing Finance Committee "C" meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Strategic Road Development
The road expansion project is strategically designed to improve connectivity across four major national highways, including the Delhi-Mathura-Agra (NH-19), Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (NE-4), Gurugram-Nuh-Rajasthan (NH-248A), and Delhi-Jaipur (NH-48). This development promises to significantly reduce travel time and enhance logistics movement in the region.
Innovative Tender Allocation Process
Chief Minister Saini introduced an innovative approach to address contractor-related delays in development projects. Under the new system, if the lowest bidder (L-1) abandons the project midway, the contract will automatically transfer to the second-lowest bidder (L-2) at the prescribed rates. This mechanism aims to prevent unnecessary project interruptions and ensure timely completion of critical infrastructure developments.
Consumer Relief Measures
Alongside the road project, the government approved a substantial Rs 274 crore initiative to waive monthly minimum electricity charges for domestic consumers. This relief will benefit approximately 9.5 lakh households with a sanctioned load of up to 2KW and monthly consumption below 100 units, providing significant financial relief to lower and middle-income families.
The meeting, attended by PWD (B&R) Minister Ranbir Gangwa, underscores the government's commitment to balanced development, focusing on both infrastructure enhancement and citizen welfare.
