In a pivotal meeting between Haryana's leadership and the World Bank, Chief Minister Nayab Saini unveiled an ambitious plan to transform the state into a global technology and innovation hub. The centerpiece of the discussion was the proposed establishment of a Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center, aimed at empowering youth with cutting-edge skills and positioning Haryana as an international AI research and innovation destination.
Comprehensive Development Strategy
The meeting addressed multiple critical areas of development, including:
- AI Center Establishment: A strategic initiative to provide youth with advanced AI and modern skill training
- Clean Air Project: An ambitious plan to make Haryana pollution-free by 2030
- River Interconnection Project: A comprehensive water management strategy to improve irrigation and water storage capabilities
Financial and Environmental Commitment
The World Bank demonstrated strong commitment to Haryana's development, pledging financial support totaling approximately 3,647 crore rupees. Of this, 2,498 crore rupees will be provided as a loan, with the Haryana government contributing 1,066 crore rupees and an additional 83 crore rupees allocated as a grant.
Future-Ready Approach
Chief Minister Saini emphasized the projects' potential to not only improve citizens' quality of life but also position Haryana as a leader in technology, water management, and environmental sustainability. The World Bank's Country Director, Auguste T. Kaume, praised Haryana's economic potential and its attractiveness to foreign investors.
