Haryana Chief Minister Enforces Stringent Measures for City Cleanliness

CM Manohar Lal Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has intensified efforts to uphold cleanliness standards in cities as part of the state's sanitation campaign. In a decisive move, the secretary of Ladwa Municipality has been promptly suspended for neglecting directives related to garbage collection within the city. The suspension, effective immediately, comes as a result of negligence and is in line with the Chief Minister's unwavering commitment to a cleaner environment. The directive was issued by Commissioner and Secretary of the Urban Local Bodies Department, Vikas Gupta.

This strict stance on cleanliness was underscored during a recent meeting with Deputy Commissioners, District Municipal Commissioners, and senior officers. The Chief Minister emphasised the need to bolster the cleanliness infrastructure in urban areas, insisting that visible garbage heaps in cities should be eradicated. To enforce this, he sternly warned that officers and staff failing in their responsibilities would face punitive action.

Manohar Lal's emphasis on cleanliness extends to the meticulous collection of garbage from every household and its proper transportation to designated dumping grounds. The Chief Minister's vision is not only to address the current concerns but also to establish robust procedures for sustained cleanliness. In this vein, surprise inspections by various teams will become a regular feature in cities. Negligence in duty, as discovered during these inspections, will lead to stringent actions in adherence to established rules.

The immediate suspension of the Ladwa Municipality secretary underscores the government's commitment to a proactive and accountable approach to achieving and maintaining cleanliness standards across Haryana's urban landscape. As the state prioritises its sanitation goals, the Chief Minister's strict directives signal a collective responsibility toward fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents.
