In a proud moment for Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met with boxing sensation Hemant Sangwan at the PWD Rest House in Gurugram on Sunday. Sangwan, who hails from Kheri Bura village in Charkhi Dadri district, recently clinched gold at the Under-19 World Boxing Championship held in Colorado, United States. The Chief Minister congratulated the young champion and expressed optimism about his future in the sport.
Dominant Performance on World Stage
According to coach Hitesh Deshwal, the championship took place from October 25 to November 3 in the USA, where Sangwan competed in the 90kg weight category. The young boxer's journey to gold was nothing short of spectacular. He dominated his Italian opponent with a decisive 5-0 victory in the first match, followed by another commanding win against the Korean boxer. In the title bout, Sangwan demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, defeating the American boxer 4-1 to secure the gold medal.

During the felicitation ceremony, CM Saini praised Haryana's sports policy, which has consistently produced world-class athletes.
