In a significant move to support Haryana's farming community, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has released Rs 300 crore as a bonus directly into the bank accounts of 2.62 lakh farmers. This marks the second installment of a larger Rs 1,380 crore relief package, with farmers receiving Rs 2,000 per acre for both agricultural and horticultural crops affected by adverse weather conditions during kharif-2024.

Digital Revolution in Agriculture

Taking a step toward modernization, the state government has launched a digital initiative to distribute soil health cards through WhatsApp. This innovative approach aims to eliminate delays in the traditional printed card system, enabling 40 lakh farmers to receive their soil test results instantly on their mobile phones. The soil testing program, conducted every three years, provides crucial information about seed quantities and fertilizer usage to optimize crop yields.

Urban Development and Dispute Resolution

The Chief Minister has introduced the Vivadon Se Samadhan Scheme, addressing enhancement-related disputes for Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) plot holders. This six-month scheme builds on previous successful initiatives that have already benefited over 50,000 people, demonstrating the government's commitment to resolving urban development issues.

Interstate Relations and Political Commentary

Addressing interstate matters, CM Saini urged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to focus on his state's internal issues rather than interfering in Haryana's affairs. The CM highlighted concerns about the SYL water dispute and emphasized the strong bonds between the people of both states, while criticizing Congress's approach to farmer issues.

The remaining Rs 580 crore, constituting the third installment of the farmer bonus, is scheduled for distribution to 4.94 lakh farmers within the next two weeks, completing the comprehensive support package for the state's agricultural sector.
