Contractual Employees to Gain Job Security

The proposed Job Security Bill aims to provide job security to over 1.2 lakh contractual employees in Haryana. The bill will cover contractual staff across various state departments, including the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN). The government has already approved the Haryana Contractual Employees (Security of Tenure) Ordinance, 2024, in August, paving the way for the introduction of the bill.

Fulfilling Pre-Election Promises

The BJP government in Haryana is committed to the welfare of the state's contractual workforce, as per its pre-election promises. The passage of the Job Security Bill in the Assembly will reaffirm the government's commitment to "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Collective Effort, Inclusive Growth).

Other Bills on the Agenda

The Vidhan Sabha session, scheduled for November 13-18, will also see the introduction of several other bills, including the Sikh Gurdwara (Management) Amendment Ordinance, 2024, and the Haryana Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024. The Appropriation Bill in respect of Supplementary Estimates (first instalment) for 2024-25, the Haryana Village Common Lands (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2024, and the Haryana Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2024, will also be brought before the session.
