Haryana Government Approves Projects Worth ₹2,050 Crore in High-Power Meeting

CM Nayab Saini Chairs Crucial Committee Meeting; Sirsa Medical College and Gurugram Infrastructure Get Major Boost; Education and Mining Projects Also Approved; Significant Cost Savings Achieved Through Negotiations.

In a landmark decision-making session, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a joint meeting of three high-power committees in Chandigarh, approving projects that promise to transform various sectors across the state. The meeting, which saw the participation of key cabinet ministers including Mahipal Dhanda, Vipul Goyal, and Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma, cleared 45 out of 49 proposed agendas.

Major Infrastructure Push for Gurugram 

Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) received approvals for 11 projects worth ₹249.77 crore. Notable among these are:

  • A Centralized Integrated Water Management System (CIWMS) costing ₹16.40 crore
  • Road reconstruction projects spanning 174 kilometers, valued at ₹170 crore
  • Development of e-bus depot in Sector-48 at ₹17.34 crore
  • Bus queue shelters in various sectors with a combined cost of ₹37.08 crore 

Healthcare and Education Initiatives

A significant breakthrough came with the approval of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for Sirsa Medical College. The project adopts a turnkey approach where the contractor will handle everything from design to commissioning. 

In the education sector, the committee approved:

  • Textbook printing contracts for classes 1-8 for the 2025-26 academic year
  • Strict quality control measures for paper quality 
  • Timely delivery schedules for educational materials

Technology and Infrastructure Development

The meeting also approved several technology-focused initiatives: 

  • Purchase of high-capacity workstations for Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC)  
  • IT infrastructure maintenance contracts for government institutions
  • Water supply and sewerage management projects worth ₹729 crore 
  • Mining development operator selection for the Kalyanpur-Badalpara coal block in Jharkhand 

"Our focus is on quality and timely completion of all projects," emphasized CM Saini during the meeting, which was attended by Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar and Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Anurag Rastogi.
