The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) is set to launch its new round of Common Eligibility Test (CET) applications, marking a significant change in the state's recruitment process. The Commission is expected to release the official notification between November 5-7, with applications opening from November 10.

Key Changes in CET Format

In a major policy shift, the Commission has eliminated the previous 5-mark bonus awarded based on socio-economic criteria. This decision means candidates will now be selected purely on merit basis. The test results will remain valid for three years, and candidates can retake the exam annually to improve their scores, with their highest score being considered for recruitment.

Examination Schedule and Process

According to HSSC Chairman Himmat Singh, the examination is likely to be conducted in late December or early January. The Commission is currently preparing a proposal for the government's approval regarding whether to conduct the exam in a single day or spread it across multiple days. The testing agency is yet to be finalized, though the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the previous examination.

 Impact on Job Seekers

This development is particularly significant for numerous young job seekers who couldn't participate in HSSC recruitment processes due to not having qualified CET previously. The BJP government had promised two lakh government jobs before coming to power, and this examination is seen as a crucial step toward fulfilling that commitment.

The Commission is working on streamlining the process to ensure maximum participation. The upcoming notification will provide comprehensive details about the application process, exam pattern, and important dates. Once candidates qualify for CET, they become eligible to apply for various positions advertised by HSSC in the future.
