In a bid to allay fears of fertilizer shortage, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini conducted a comprehensive review meeting with senior officials of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, emphasizing that current DAP (Di-ammonium Phosphate) fertilizer stocks are adequate to meet farmer demands across the state.

Comparing current consumption patterns with previous years, the Chief Minister presented revealing statistics: "October 2023 saw a consumption of 1,19,470 metric tonnes (MT) of DAP, while October 2024's consumption stands at 1,14,000 MT. Currently, we maintain a healthy stock of 24,000 MT in the state," Saini stated during the review meeting.

The state government has implemented a systematic distribution strategy, with the Centre allocating 1,10,000 MT of DAP fertilizer specifically for November.

This allocation will be distributed in phases:

  • First week: 41,600 MT
  • Second week: 40,000 MT
  • Third week: 20,000 MT

This planned distribution significantly exceeds last year's November consumption of 72,697 MT, indicating the government's proactive approach to prevent any shortage.

A detailed district-wise distribution schedule has been established:

November 3: - Bhiwani, Dadri, Rohtak - Mahendergarh, Karnal, Panipat - Kurukshetra, Jind

November 4: - Hisar, Fatehabad - Kurukshetra, Jhajjar - Sonepat, Rohtak

November 5: - Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar - Karnal, Hisar - Sirsa, Jind

November 6: - Ambala, Kurukshetra - Panchkula, Yamunanagar

November 7: - Palwal, Nuh - Faridabad, Gurugram

"This distribution plan ensures comprehensive coverage across all districts," the official spokesperson emphasized. "We have strategically planned the rake movements to maintain a steady supply chain and prevent any disruption in fertilizer availability."

The government has urged farmers to maintain normal buying patterns and avoid panic purchasing, assuring that the supply chain has been strengthened to meet the seasonal demand. The systematic distribution approach aims to ensure that farmers in every district have timely access to the required fertilizer for the current agricultural season.

Officials are closely monitoring the distribution process and have established a feedback mechanism to address any localized supply issues promptly. The government has also emphasized that the current stock levels and planned arrivals are sufficient to meet the agricultural requirements across the state.
