Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda has announced significant changes to strengthen Haryana's education system, including the establishment of sports nurseries in government schools. The announcement comes as Haryana maintains its position as the third-best state in education, according to the NITI Aayog report.

"Our government schools already have higher teaching standards compared to private institutions," Minister Dhanda stated. "We will develop comprehensive plans to encourage parents to choose government schools over private ones while continuing to enhance the overall quality of education."

In a landmark decision, Haryana has become the first state to commit to implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by 2025, five years ahead of the central government's 2030 deadline. The minister also emphasized plans to expand technical education in alignment with industry demands, building upon existing partnerships with industrial institutions.

The sports nurseries initiative reflects Haryana's commitment to maintaining its leadership in sports. "As Haryana excels in sports, we want to nurture sporting talent from the school level. These nurseries will provide the right platform for emerging athletes," Dhanda explained.

The minister announced upcoming review meetings with officials from school, secondary, higher, and technical education departments to develop a comprehensive roadmap for these reforms.
