The case, which came to light recently, has led to the filing of an FIR against the doctor and raised serious questions about medical ethics and patient safety.

The Unfortunate Incident

Anand, a resident of Rajendra Nagar near Sonipat Post Office, reported that his wife Veena Rani had been suffering from kidney stones in her left kidney. They sought treatment from Dr. Gaurav Singh Randhawa at Tulip Hospital in Sonipat. On April 27, Dr. Randhawa informed them that Veena's left kidney was completely damaged due to stones and needed immediate surgical removal.

Trusting the doctor's advice, Anand admitted his wife to the hospital on April 29. The surgery took place on May 1, and Dr. Randhawa declared it successful. However, when Anand visited his wife in the ICU, he noticed she was unresponsive.

The Shocking Revelation

Upon reviewing Veena's reports again, Dr. Randhawa reportedly admitted to making a grave mistake. He confessed to Anand that he had accidentally removed both of Veena's kidneys. This revelation left Anand and his family in shock and disbelief.

Family's Reaction and Police Involvement

Anand immediately informed his family and friends about the incident. His sister Manju called the police on Dial 112 to report the matter. The family accused Dr. Randhawa, the operation theater staff, and the hospital management of fraud and attempting to endanger Veena's life.

Investigation and FIR

Following the family's complaints, a medical board comprising doctors from the Civil Hospital was formed to investigate the case. The board's report confirmed negligence on the part of Dr. Randhawa. Subsequently, an FIR was filed against him under Section 338 of the IPC at Sector 27 Police Station. Sub-Inspector Devendra, handling the case, stated that the investigation is ongoing, and the doctor will be arrested soon.

This incident has raised serious concerns about medical practices and patient safety in private hospitals. The Haryana Story will continue to follow this case as it develops, providing updates on the legal proceedings and the condition of the patient.
