Karan, a crew member of the Indian Coast Guard, was among the two personnel who lost their lives in the crash off the Gujarat coast on Monday. Davla village in Jhajjar district is in mourning after hearing about Karan Singh's death in a Coast Guard helicopter crash on Tuesday evening.
According to his younger brother, Arjun Bharti, Karan received an emergency message to evacuate a seriously injured crew member from a motor tanker sailing off the coast of Porbandar. Karan's family last spoke to him on Monday evening, unaware of the impending danger. The news of his death sent shockwaves through the village, with neighbors and relatives gathering at the Singh residence to console the bereaved family.
Karan, a dedicated and honest officer, had joined the Indian Coast Guard 13 years ago. His team had recently played a crucial role in rescuing 67 lives during cyclonic weather in Gujarat. He is survived by his wife, a three-year-old daughter, and a one-year-old son. The family had been residing in an official accommodation in Gujarat.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar have expressed their deep condolences to the family of the brave officer. "I pay my tribute to Karan Singh, a son of Davla village in Jhajjar and a crew member of the Indian Coast Guard, who attained martyrdom while serving the nation," said Saini.
Karan's body will be brought to the village on Thursday morning for cremation. The village will come together to bid a final farewell to their brave son, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the nation.
