PindVibe, preserving Desi culture through his lens

Ankit Duhan, a Zoology graduate from Maharishi Dayanand University, never imagined he would become a photographer and videographer, let alone a cultural ambassador for Haryana. However, his passion for storytelling and showcasing the beauty of his home state led him to create PindVibe (pindvibe), an Instagram handle that has taken the internet by storm with over 2 lakh followers. His journey is pretty interesting. Much like many other new-age creators coming out of Haryana! He started doing early modeling and built a network of friends who'd engage in lifestyle gigs that would pay.

Through modelling experience, he graduated towards the camera, understanding the power and possibility of the lens. Soon enough, he had built an audience on his Instagram handle. As more Haryanvis got onto internet making way for the creator economy; Ankit leveraged his skill to the hilt. His instagram is full of inviting and enticing side of Haryana which was, perhaps, absent from Haryana for long. And, he does it all, majorly through his mobile camera!

"I want to show the world the real Haryana, beyond the stereotypes," Ankit says. "I believe that our villages hold a wealth of culture and tradition that needs to be preserved." 

Through his candid and natural videos, Ankit takes his audience on a journey through Haryana's villages, highlighting festivals, rituals, and everyday life. His recent video on Teej, a significant festival in Haryana, showcased the traditional ritual of "kothli," where the girl's family sends sweets and gifts to their daughter.

Ankit's motivation is simple: he wants people to stay connected to their roots and appreciate the beauty of rural life. "There's no need to run towards cities; we can live a beautiful life in our villages," he emphasizes.

With over 200 villages covered, Ankit's next goal is to provide a tour of Haryana, highlighting its diverse languages and dialects. He also wants to address the shortcomings and evils in society, encouraging people to eradicate them.

Ankit's journey is a testament to the power of passion and storytelling. With PindVibe (pindvibe), he has used Instagram and leveraged it to not only showcase Haryana's culture but also inspire people to appreciate their heritage.
