Chief Minister Manohar Lal Takes Strong Measures for City Cleanliness and Accountability

In a recent development, Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal has issued strict directives to District Deputy Commissioners to uphold the cleanliness system in cities, emphasising the need to eliminate garbage heaps. Surprise inspections of the cleanliness systems will be conducted in cities, and prompt action will be taken in case of any deficiencies.

The Chief Minister's instructions stem from a prior meeting where he emphasised the importance of holding contractors accountable for repairing roads and streets damaged during pipeline installations. In a stern move, two officers, Engineer-in-Chief Ashim Khanna and Chief Engineer Rajeev Batish, have been placed on compulsory leave for five days due to their failure to complete the assigned work.

In response to the lapses, Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal has excluded both officers from the State Level Direction Committee of the Public Health Engineering Department. Furthermore, officials have been warned to act responsibly in the future.

The ongoing Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, launched by Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal on November 30th, is gaining momentum and enthusiasm among citizens daily. The yatra has seen a significant participation rate, with lakhs of people joining daily. As a result, Haryana currently leads the country in terms of travel progress.

Encouraging District Deputy Commissioners in a recent review meeting, Shri Manohar Lal directed them to continue working diligently to maintain Haryana's top-ranking position in the future. He reiterated the officers' responsibility to ensure that all government schemes reach the last person in society.

The Chief Minister's commitment to cleanliness and accountability underscores his dedication to good governance, emphasising that citizens deserve well-maintained cities and efficient execution of government initiatives. The enforcement of compulsory leave for officers failing in their duties reflects a zero-tolerance approach towards negligence, fostering a culture of responsibility and efficiency in government operations.
