In a sad story for Indian sports fans, wrestler Vinesh Phogat has been disqualified from the Paris Olympics. This happened because she was a little too heavy for her weight class on the day of her final match.

Vinesh was supposed to fight in the women's 50kg freestyle wrestling final. She had done really well in her earlier matches and was sure to win at least a silver medal. But on the morning of the final, when all wrestlers had to be weighed, Vinesh was about 100 grams over the 50kg limit.

The night before, Vinesh tried very hard to lose weight. She didn't sleep much, and she did a lot of exercise to try to sweat out the extra weight. But it wasn't enough. When she couldn't make the weight, she fainted because she was so tired. The medical team had to take her to a clinic to help her.

This is very sad for Vinesh because it's the third time she's had bad luck at the Olympics. In her two previous Olympic tries, she also couldn't win a medal for different reasons. The Haryana Story reported that many fans from Vinesh's home state are very disappointed. They had high hopes for her to bring home an Olympic medal.

Because Vinesh couldn't fight in the final, the gold medal match will now be between Susan Hilderbrandt from the United States and Yusneylis Guzman Lopez from Cuba. Vinesh had beaten Guzman Lopez in the semi-finals, which makes this situation even more frustrating for her.

The Indian Olympic team put out a short statement about what happened. They said they were sorry to share this news and that Vinesh and her team had tried their best to make the weight.

This story reminds us how tough sports can be. Sometimes, even the smallest things can change everything for an athlete. Vinesh Phogat's fans are surely feeling sad for her today, but many hope she will come back stronger in the future.
