Manu Bhaker, a 22-year-old shooter from Haryana, India has made history by winning the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics 2024. This is India's first medal in shooting since the 2012 London Olympics.

A Long-Awaited Medal

Manu's victory is a redemption story after her heartbreak at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, where her pistol malfunctioned. She has worked hard to reach this moment, and her dedication has paid off. Manu finished third in the qualification round with a score of 580 and shot the highest number of Perfect Scores (27) to reach the final.

Inspiration from Bhagavad Gita

Manu credits her success to the Bhagavad Gita, which she reads regularly. She says, "I focus on the Karma, and not on the outcome. That was running in my head." This philosophy helped her stay calm and focused during the final moments of the competition.

A Historic Moment for India

Manu's bronze medal is a historic moment for India, as she becomes the first woman shooter from India to win an Olympics medal. She joins an elite club of Indian shooters who have won Olympics medals, including Gagan Narang and Vijay Kumar. Manu's achievement will inspire a new generation of Indian shooters to strive for excellence.

Manu Bhaker's bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics 2024 is a proud moment for India. Her hard work, dedication, and inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita have made her a champion. We congratulate Manu on her achievement and look forward to more medals from Indian shooters in the future.
