The 2024 Lok Sabha elections witnessed a fierce political battle in the Karnal constituency, where Manohar Lal Khattar, the former Chief Minister of Haryana, locked horns with Divyanshu Budhiraja, the former President of the Haryana Youth Congress. Born in the village of Nindana in Rohtak district, Khattar's early life was rooted in humble beginnings. After completing his education, he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1977 and became a full-time pracharak (preacher) three years later. His lifelong dedication to the RSS's principles and ideology laid the foundation for his political career.

In 1994, Khattar transitioned to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), where he quickly rose through the ranks. During his tenure as the Organisational General Secretary of the BJP in Haryana from 2000 to 2014, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the party's base in the state.
