The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) has asked the Haryana Speaker to disqualify two of its MLAs. The party says these MLAs campaigned for BJP candidates during the recent parliamentary elections. This is against party rules.
The two MLAs are Jogi Ram Sihag from Barwala and Ram Niwas Surjakheda from Narwana. The JJP has provided evidence to the Speaker showing these MLAs supported the BJP instead of their own party's candidates.
JJP office secretary Randhir Singh said the MLAs did not respond to multiple notices about their actions. He said the party has given the Speaker pictures, media interviews, and social media posts proving the MLAs backed the BJP.
The Speaker, Gian Chand Gupta, confirmed receiving the letter from JJP. He said he will look into the matter before deciding what to do next.
If the two MLAs are disqualified, it could help the BJP government in Haryana. The BJP currently has support from 43 MLAs in the 88-member assembly. Losing two more MLAs would not impact the BJP's position significantly.
