In a significant political development, several senior leaders from the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Panchkula on Tuesday. They were inducted into the BJP by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Sani himself, who welcomed them by adorning them with the party's signature saffron scarves.

Among the notable JJP leaders who switched allegiances were Ashok Sherwal, the party's national secretary, Kusum Sherwal, the state general secretary, and Harpal Kamboj, the district president of Ambala. Their decision to join the BJP is seen as a major setback for the JJP, which had emerged as a significant force in Haryana politics.

Endorsing PM Modi's Policies During the event, CM Nayab Singh Sani addressed the gathering and attributed the influx of leaders from other parties into the BJP to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies. "The way leaders from various parties are joining the BJP today is a result of PM Modi's policies," he stated. Sani emphasized the BJP's commitment to inclusive development, stating, "We are moving forward with the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, and Sabka Vishwas' (Together with all, development for all, efforts by all, and trust of all)."

The Chief Minister also echoed PM Modi's vision of making India a developed nation by 2047, asserting that the country's 140 crore people are extending their support and blessings towards this goal. "In this spirit, Ashok Sherwal, Kusum Sherwal, and their associates have joined the BJP today. Many other workers also want to be part of the BJP," he said, urging people to join the party by giving a missed call on their mobile phones.

The defection of senior JJP leaders is seen as a significant boost for the BJP in Haryana, where it has been facing challenges from regional parties. The move is likely to strengthen the party's organizational structure and broaden its support base ahead of the upcoming elections.
