Haryana Politics in Flux: Former Minister Vij Removes "Modi ka Parivar" from Social Media Profile

The rapidly changing political landscape in Haryana has been delivering one shock after another, with significant developments unfolding in the state ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. When it comes to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), not only has the Chief Minister's face changed, but there have also been several internal shifts that have caught the attention of political observers.

Vij's Social Media Update

One such development is the recent social media activity of former Home Minister Anil Vij. Vij, who has long been perceived as being at odds with his own party's leaders, has now removed the "Modi's Family" tag from his social media profile, once again bringing him into the spotlight.

Vij Clarifies His Stance

Addressing the change, Vij stated that he had the "Modi's Family" tag on his social media profile, just like other BJP leaders, central ministers, and MLAs. However, he has now replaced it with "Ex-Minister, Haryana, India." Vij emphasised that he remains a part of the BJP and will continue to be so.

Explaining the Change

According to Vij, the reason behind the change was that he needed to update his profile to reflect his current status as an "ex-minister." He explained that when he started writing "ex" on his profile, the character count exceeded the limit, so he had to remove the "Modi's Family" part. Vij insisted that this was not a political statement, but simply a technical adjustment to his social media profile.

Vij's Political Journey

Anil Vij is considered a senior leader within the Haryana BJP, having been an MLA from Ambala Cantonment for multiple terms. He served as the Home Minister in the previous Manohar Lal Khattar government, but was not included in the cabinet of the new Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, leading to speculation about his rift with the party leadership.

Despite the occasional media reports of Vij's discontent, the veteran legislator has consistently maintained that he remains a loyal member of the BJP. Saini himself visited Vij's residence to mend the differences and ensure his support for the party's Lok Sabha campaign.
