Haryana Minister Anil Vij Feels "Left in the Dark" Over CM Change

In the aftermath of the BJP-JJP alliance breaking down and the change of Chief Minister in Haryana, former minister Anil Vij has found himself at the center of attention with his recent statements. In an interview, Vij revealed that he was kept in the dark about the CM's replacement, despite being the senior-most MLA in the state.

Blindsided by CM Change

"I did not know that the Chief Minister was being changed. Nor did anyone tell me that the CM is being changed," Vij said. "I am the senior-most MLA, having been elected six times, but perhaps others (MLAs/ministers) knew about it. Manohar Lal definitely knew." Vij said he had even accompanied the outgoing CM Manohar Lal Khattar to the Governor's House to submit his resignation, but Khattar did not inform him about the change.

Lack of Trust and Transparency

Vij stated that when the party does not trust him, it becomes difficult to work together. "When you don't have trust in me, it's not easy to sit together and work," he said, adding that he could not openly share this with the media as it was an internal party matter.

Excluded from Decision-making

On the issue of being considered for the Deputy CM's post, Vij said he was not informed about any such decision. "When you are taking such a big decision and you are not sharing it with your close one, it means you don't have trust in us," he said.

Former CM's Role Unclear

Regarding former CM Manohar Lal Khattar's role in Vij's electoral victory in 1990, the veteran legislator said he was not aware if Khattar had campaigned for him back then. "Manohar Lal is my friend, but I don't know if he came here (Ambala Cantonment) in 1990 or not. I give credit to everyone who helped me win," Vij said. Vij also expressed his lack of knowledge about Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's visit to Ambala and not meeting him, saying he was unaware of the CM's travel plans.
