Tohana, Haryana - In the run-up to the 2024 general elections, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, claiming that the BJP-led government has brought about "unprecedented development" in the country and the state.

Addressing a rally in Tohana, Saini alleged that the Congress never cared about the poor, while the NDA regime under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that every citizen is taking "full advantage" of the development initiatives.

"During the NDA regime, every citizen is taking full advantage of the development that the double-engineered government of the BJP has brought about in the country and the state," said Saini. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured unprecedented development to take the country on the path of becoming a developed nation."

Saini's comments come as the BJP seeks to retain power in the 2024 general elections, which are just a year away. The CM also took a swipe at the opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc, saying that their "policy is neither right nor its intent, and till today, no one knows what kind of leadership it has." In contrast, Saini praised the BJP's "right policy, intention and leadership," saying that the party has worked for the welfare of all sections of society, including labourers, farmers, employees, youths and women.

The chief minister's rally was held in support of the BJP's Sirsa parliamentary candidate, Ashok Tanwar, who also addressed the gathering. Tanwar echoed Saini's sentiments, saying that the Modi government has "worked for every section of society" and has been working hard to take the country forward.

Saini's comments come just a day after former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar visited the Sirsa district, underscoring the BJP's focus on the region ahead of the crucial elections. The BJP's strategy of highlighting its development agenda and targeting the opposition appears to be a key part of its campaign for the 2024 polls. With the country's prestige and security also being touted as achievements under Modi's leadership, the party seems to be banking on its track record to woo voters.
