In a bold statement, former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has expressed unwavering confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) ability to secure all 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Addressing a rally in Sirsa, Khattar criticised the opposition, stating that they lack viable candidates and are misleading the public.
Khattar's remarks come as the state prepares for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The former CM asserted that the BJP's governance in Haryana has been marked by unprecedented progress and the fulfilment of the state's development dreams. He highlighted the party's ability to provide employment opportunities to the youth, something that he claimed no other political entity had accomplished before.
Addressing the rally, Khattar appealed to the people to consider BJP candidate Ashok Tanwar as their "younger brother" and urged them to elect him from the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency. The former CM also revealed that the BJP and the Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) would contest the elections together in Sirsa, though Gopal Kanda, the HLP leader and Sirsa MLA, was absent from the event.
Khattar stated that a meeting between the BJP and the HLP would be held in Rohtak to finalise the alliance. Gobind Kanda, Gopal Kanda's younger brother and a BJP leader, confirmed that Khattar had suggested the two parties contest the Sirsa seat together, and that a decision would be made soon.
The former CM's confident rhetoric and the potential BJP-HLP alliance in Sirsa have set the stage for a high-stakes political battle in Haryana. With the BJP's assertion of a clean sweep and the opposition's alleged lack of strong candidates, the upcoming elections in the state promise to be a closely watched affair.
