Former Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, expressed profound joy as Nayab Singh Saini assumed the mantle of Chief Minister, likening it to the happiness felt by an elder in a family. The BJP orchestrated a swift transition, replacing Khattar with OBC leader Saini, signalling a strategic shift in leadership.
Addressing a rally in Karnal district's Gharaunda, Khattar conveyed his elation over the leadership transition in Haryana, emphasising the sense of contentment akin to familial pride. The BJP's decision to elevate Saini, 54, marked a decisive move in the state's political landscape, strategically replacing Khattar, 69, with a fresh face.
While BJP President J P Nadda was expected to attend the event, logistical constraints prevented his presence. Khattar emphasised the inevitability of change, highlighting the party's foresight in orchestrating the leadership transition. He indicated that discussions regarding the change had been ongoing for a year before Saini's appointment was unanimously endorsed by BJP MLAs.
Khattar lauded BJP's organizational discipline and readiness to adapt, asserting their commitment to the state and national progress. He contrasted BJP's cohesive approach with the power struggles and factionalism evident in rival parties, particularly targeting the Congress.
Reflecting on his tenure, Khattar cited BJP's dedication to governance and public service, contrasting it with opposition's scepticism and criticism. He underscored the efficacy of BJP's flagship schemes, vowing that the electorate's appreciation for these initiatives would be evident in the upcoming polls.
Khattar, now a BJP candidate for the Karnal Lok Sabha seat, endorsed Saini's candidacy for the constituency, emphasising his own transition from local politics to national representation. Saini, in turn, acknowledged Khattar's mentorship and highlighted his predecessor's contributions to the state's development.
Saini reaffirmed BJP's commitment to securing all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, echoing the sentiment of electoral success witnessed in the 2019 polls. The event showcased BJP's unity, strategic leadership transition, and commitment to Haryana's progress under Nayab Singh Saini's stewardship.
