The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is eyeing a bigger role for former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar at the national level. This is evident from his nomination for the Karnal Lok Sabha seat. Khattar's selection for this crucial parliamentary constituency underscores his significance within the party hierarchy and his potential for a more prominent position in New Delhi. 

Roller-Coaster Political Journey: From MLA to Lok Sabha Hopeful

Having spent nearly a decade in Haryana's political arena, Khattar's journey has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride. Manohar Lal Khattar embarked on his political journey by joining the RSS in 1977, dedicating 17 years to the ideological parent of the BJP. Transitioning to the BJP in 1994, he assumed the role of general secretary (organisation) in Haryana. His electoral debut in 2014 marked a milestone as he became Haryana's inaugural BJP Chief Minister. Re-elected in 2019 through a BJP-JJP alliance, Khattar now seeks voter support as the BJP's nominee for the Karnal Lok Sabha seat in 2024. His nomination for the Lok Sabha seat reflects his evolution as a leader with national significance.

Throughout his tenure, Khattar has been a staunch advocate for transparency and good governance. His slogan, "no parchi, no kharchi," epitomises his commitment to rooting out corruption and ensuring fair government practices. Additionally, his emphasis on "Haryana ek, Haryanvi ek" highlights his efforts to foster unity and combat regionalism and casteism in the state's political landscape.

Expressing hope for continued support from the voters of Karnal, Khattar stated, "Main umeed karta hoon ki aane wale Lok Sabha chunav mein, Karnal sansad kshetra ke matdata mujhe wahi pyaar aur samarthan denge, jo unhone mere do daur as Karnal MLA ke dauran diya." (I hope I will get the same love and support from voters of the Karnal parliamentary constituency in the coming Lok Sabha elections which they bestowed on me during my two tenures as Karnal MLA).
