Haryana has paved the way for the recruitment of 6,000 police constables, including 5,000 men and 1,000 women, as the state government swiftly approved the proposal without the need for a cabinet meeting. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar gave his consent, signalling a breakthrough in the long-pending police recruitment rules. The Home Department, after formulating revised regulations, sent the file to all ministers for their consent. The modified rules, categorised as an emergency, were then circulated by the Chief Minister's Office, detailing the approval. The changes address anomalies in the earlier rules discussed during the cabinet meeting.

The Home Department is set to release the notification for the revised regulations promptly. This move comes after a three-year stalemate in the Haryana Police recruitment process. With the revised norms, aspirants are advocating for age relaxation, especially for those who passed the test nearly three years ago. The new rules include calling for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) for CET-passed applicants in Group C, where ten times the number of candidates will be shortlisted. After PMT, a thorough document verification process will follow, ensuring a streamlined police recruitment procedure.

In a separate development, Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) deferred the examination for the recruitment of Livestock Development Officers under the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, with a new date to be announced soon, as conveyed in an official notification. Aspirants are advised to stay updated through the official HPSC website for further announcements.
