Star wrestler Virendra Singh, also known as Gunga Pahalwan, has once again taken to social media to share his thoughts, this time sharing a photo with fellow wrestler Sakshi Malik. In his appeal, he addresses Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing that when athletes receive awards, it honours not just them but their families. He highlights the privilege of conversing with the President, Prime Minister, and Sports Minister.

Gunga Pahalwan urges the PM to create an environment free from fear for India's daughters. Previously, he had expressed support for Sakshi Malik, encouraging her to retire from the wrestling arena where she achieved her hard-earned success.

In his earlier post, Gunga Pahalwan had tagged Sakshi Malik and appealed to her to take retirement from the wrestling field where she has dedicated herself, leaving a legacy of hard work, sacrifice, and an Olympic medal. This appeal resonated with many fans, who praised his encouragement and support.

Additionally, Gunga Pahalwan had declared on December 22, 2023, that he would return the Padma Shri, an honour awarded to him, in support of his sister and the country's daughter, Sakshi Malik. He expressed pride in Sakshi Malik, tagging cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and athlete Neeraj Chopra, urging other top athletes to make their decisions as well. His posts reflect a strong voice advocating for athletes' welfare and the empowerment of women in sports.
