In a magnificent display of devotion, a grand "Shriram Yatra '' took place in Ambala Cantt, Haryana, today, organised in honour of the consecration ceremony of Lord Shriram's idol in the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Led by Haryana's Home and Health Minister Anil Vij, the procession commenced from Subhash Park, with the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa preceding the start.

Before initiating the yatra, Minister Anil Vij made a call for the adoption of a Sattvic diet, urging people to refrain from Tamasic and Rajasic foods until the consecration of Lord Shriram's idol. He emphasised the significance of consuming a Sattvic diet until the divine idol installation is complete.

In addition to his dietary appeal, Minister Vij pledged to clean religious sites in his constituency after the procession, encouraging citizens to contribute to the cleanliness drive. The procession, with thousands of participants, wound its way through the major markets of Cantt and culminated at Subhash Park.

Notably, this event marked the first-ever grand procession for the recitation of Shri Hanuman Chalisa in Ambala City. Devotees, reciting the sacred verses, walked through various markets, starting from Outer Large Road, traversing through Kabaadi Bazaar, Khadi Chawal Chowk, Halwai Bazaar, Old Sabzi Mandi, Hanuman Market Chowk, and DC Road, and concluding in Sadar Bazaar Chowk.

The yatra aimed to bring together Ram Bhakts in a collective spiritual journey and express reverence towards Lord Shri Ram. Minister Anil Vij's leadership in this initiative reflected the state's cultural vibrancy and commitment to promoting religious harmony.

Additionally, Minister Anil Vij utilised social media to extend the appeal, urging people to embrace a Sattvic diet until January 22, coinciding with the idol consecration in Ayodhya. This call to purity aligns with the spiritual significance of the ongoing festivities and contributes to maintaining a sanctified atmosphere in the nation.
