In the new academic session, more than 34,000 children from poor families in Haryana will be able to study completely free of charge in private schools. These students will get admission under the Chief Minister's Equal Education Relief, Assistance and Grant Scheme (CHIRAG).

A total of 34,271 seats are available in 700 recognized private schools across the state for classes 5 to 12. Under this scheme, eligible students will not have to pay any fees as the government will reimburse the schools for their education costs.

Eligibility and Application Process

The scheme is specifically designed for children from families with annual income less than Rs 1.80 lakh. Complete information about class-wise available seats in all participating schools is provided on the department's website and portal.= Parents and students can apply until March 31 to take advantage of this opportunity.

Selection Through Draw if Applications Exceed Seats

If the number of applications for any school exceeds the available seats, students will be selected through a draw. This draw will be conducted between April 1 and 5.

All schools must complete the admission process by April 15. The list of successful students will be displayed on the school's notice board.

If selected students do not take admission within the specified time, students from the waiting list will be given admission from April 16 to 30.
