Meteorological Department forecasts rainfall for the next three days across Haryana. According to weather experts, two western disturbances are expected to influence the state's weather patterns from February 27 through March 1, bringing precipitation and potentially severe weather to many areas.

Two Western Disturbances to Impact Region

The first western disturbance is already active and will continue to influence weather through today, while a second system will become active from February 27 to March 1. These atmospheric systems originating from the Mediterranean region typically bring moisture and instability to northern India during winter and early spring.

"Haryana will likely experience variable weather conditions until March 1," explained Dr. Madan Khichad, Head of the Agricultural Meteorology Department at Haryana Agricultural University. "The consecutive impact of two western disturbances is expected to bring significant changes to the state's weather patterns."

The effects of these weather systems were already visible this morning, with clouds covering skies across most parts of Haryana, including Hisar, where overcast conditions were reported early in the day.

Thunderstorms and Hailstorms Possible

During this period, residents should be prepared for thunderstorms accompanied by light showers and strong winds. Weather officials have also warned about the possibility of hailstorms in one or two locations, which could potentially damage standing crops that are approaching harvest time.

The recent spell of rain and hailstorms had already caused a sudden increase in cold conditions across the state. With these new weather systems moving in, maximum temperatures are once again expected to drop.

Meteorologists predict that the temperature decline will continue throughout this period, affecting both daytime and nighttime temperatures. This fluctuation comes at a time when the region typically begins transitioning toward warmer spring conditions.

Advice for Residents and Farmers

Farmers should take precautionary measures to protect rabi crops especially wheat which is at crucial stage of development. hailstorm at this time can affect and damage mature crops as excess moisture will lead to fungal diseases and wheat requires peoper care during this time.

The general public is advised to carry umbrellas and raincoats when venturing outdoors over the next few days. Those planning outdoor events or travel should stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and be prepared for sudden changes in conditions.  Local authorities are also on alert to respond to any weather-related emergencies, particularly in areas prone to waterlogging during sudden rainfall.
