
n a major cybercrime breakthrough, the Cyber Police Central team has arrested Bhupesh Arora, a resident of Rohini, Delhi, for allegedly duping a Faridabad man of ₹2.02 crore by luring him with promises of massive returns from the stock market.
According to police, Arora operated a high-end lifestyle in Dubai, where he leased and managed a hotel named Lavender. The hotel housed a hookah bar, a nightclub, and an entertainment venue called Roka Falls. Every weekend, Arora hosted "Artist Nights" featuring performers from India, Pakistan, and Nepal, paying them hefty fees.
Investigations also revealed Arora’s close associations with Dubai’s elite class. He reportedly co-founded a company with a well-known Indian tennis player and was involved in organizing the World Tennis League in Dubai. He also has social links to local sheikhs as once he invited them to his hotel during a prestigious India International Awards ceremony.
Arora also aspired to break into Bollywood. He had produced a few songs and shared photos on Instagram with celebrities from the film, cricket, and music industries. His account boasts over 20,000 followers and features 88 posts, many with well-known public figures.
The investigation is led by Sub-Inspector Mohit, he confirmed that 33 fraud cases across 12 states have so far been linked to Arora. Haryana Police is working with state authorities to compile a comprehensive criminal profile and determine the total amount he swindled.
