Haryana Para Athletes Dominate National Championship with 113 Medals

State's 172-Member Team Clinches Overall Championship Trophy at Chennai with 53 Gold, 31 Silver, and 29 Bronze Medals; Paralympian Navdeep Among Star Performers.

Haryana Para Athletes

Haryana dominated in para sports as its athletes did outstanding at the National para Athletic Championship in Chennai. Out of the state's 172-member group, 113 athletes contributed to the medal tally, with male athletes securing 66 medals and female athletes winning 37 medals. The impressive haul included 53 gold, 31 silver, and 29 bronze medals. 

Star Athletes

Paralympic medalist and Arjuna Award winner Navdeep highlighted Haryana's success by clinching gold in javelin throw. International para athletes including Ekta Bhyan, Dharambir, Rinku, Ankur Dhama, Tek Chand, Karmjyoti, Sumit, Suman, Monu Ghangas, Preeti, Usha, and Kanchan Lakhani also added to the state's medal count. 

Huge Participation

The 23rd National Para Athletic Championship, organized by Tamil Nadu Paralympic Sports Association under the aegis of Paralympic Committee of India, saw participation from 1,350 differently-abled athletes representing 25 states. 

Health Minister and Para Sports Association of Haryana President Arti Singh Rao congratulated the winning team. The association's General Secretary Jyoti Chhabbra led the support staff, which included Vice President Satyaprakash Sangwan, Team In-charge Amit Kumar, and various coaches and physiotherapists who contributed to this historic victory.
