Parents Begin 190 KM Walk to Minister's House in Search of Missing Daughter

After Four Months of Protests and Failed Suicide Attempt, Family Marches from Hisar to Ambala; Human Trafficking Cell Takes Over Investigation.

Harshita Soni, aged 16 from Hisar district of Haryana has been missing since September 29, 2024. The Soni family's demand for justice has taken a new turn as they are on a long protest walk to Ambala to meet Cabinet Minister Anil Vij. Harshita 's father Sunil Soni along with his wife and two minor sons began their journey after months of staging protests at the Mini-Secretariat failed. 

The family has already tried self immolation on January 9 outside the Haryana Agricultural University during Chief Minister Nayab Saini's visit. This actually led to a small meeting with CM Saini who assured action and directed authorities to rake necessary step and fasten investigation. 

Investigation Status

The case has been transfered to the Human Trafficking Cell following the failure of local police.The family claims that they have not received any provident update regarding their daughter despite CM Saini's intervention and involvement of the special team.

Future Plans

The family has outlined a determined course of action:

  • Current march to Ambala to meet Minister Anil Vij
  • Plans to proceed to Chandigarh if no response from Vij
  • Ultimate intention to appeal to Prime Minister Modi in Delhi
