In an Exclusive interview with The Haryana Story, Haryanvi music sensation Big Money whose real name is Maninder Kundu shared his inspiring journey from a small village in Jind to becoming a sensation in Haryanvi music industry.

Early Life and Inspiration

Big money was born and raised in Kalwa village in Jind, Haryana. His humble beginnings are a testament to his hard work and dedication. His father, a shopkeeper and mother, a teacher are responsible for instilling the values of perseverance and creativity in him. Big money has done his schooling from Dronacharya school in Jind. He was a introvert but had a passion for wrestling and music during his school times.

Musical Journey

Big Money shared that his passion for music knows no bounds. During his college days he got influenced by the punjabi music and aspired to take Haryanvi music at higher level and heights. He drew his inspiration from Haryanvi ragnis and music and songs of old hit haryanvi movies like Chandrawal and Laddo.

His professional musical journey began with his first track got released in 2021. During that point of time he came in touch with fellow hip-hop singer Laath Saab. Both artists travelled to delhi to learn music from H&M Music Academy. Big money 's interests lies in hip-hop and melodic rap and he enjoys listening to English music. Unlike his earlier work in raw rap, Big Money 's interest is in titled on melodic rap. His goal is to produce complete, catchy songs that everyone can vibe with. Maninder wants to create the music which stands the test of the time. 

Big Money has a studio in Rohtak, where he resides, and often writes lyrics during his walks. He prioritizes his physical and mental well-being by practicing yoga and meditation, which he believes have improved his focus and concentration.

Recent Success and Upcoming Projects

Big Money expressed satisfaction with his work this year. He gave full credit to fellow singer Prnce Sidhu for the success of their song "Jatt Warrior," which garnered over a million views.

Big Money is currently working on an EP, "Exhibition," with Lath Saab. One of the songs, "Jigri Yaar," was released nine days ago. His favorite song from the EP, "Tera Zikar," a romantic track, is set to release on January 22. 

Preserving Individuality and Cultural Heritage

Big Money emphasized the importance of maintaining individuality in the music industry. He encouraged artists to stay true to their cultural heritage rather than copying others. Specifically, he noted that the Haryanvi music industry often adopts themes and lyrics from Punjabi culture, which may not be relatable to the Haryanvi audience. He encouraged people to pursue their passions legally and with dedication. He cited Neeraj Chopra, a Haryanvi athlete who chose a different sport and achieved success, as an inspiration. 

Favourites and Inspirations

Big Money shared his favorite Ragini, "Badal Utha Ri Sakhi" which he first heard as a remake in a Bollywood movie. His favorite Haryanvi song is "Too Many Girls" by Fazilpuria and Badshah. He also expressed his admiration for Laath Saab, a fellow artist and dear friend. Big Money cited Honey Singh as a major inspiration during his college days, praising his contribution to the Punjabi music industry. He praised Diljit Dosanjh for taking the Punjabi music industry to new heights and aspires to achieve similar success in the Haryanvi music industry.

Personal Life and Future Plans

Big Money is soon to be married and is looking forward to exploring the romantic genre in his music. He aims to make Haryanvi music more accessible and enjoyable for a wider audience, regardless of their language or cultural background.
