Haryana's government has unveiled an ambitious plan to transform the state's education system, aiming to make government schools superior to private institutions. The reform includes ensuring optimal teacher-student ratios, introducing the Bhagavad Gita in the curriculum up to 8th grade, and establishing reading rooms across the state to foster a culture of reading and learning.
Chief Minister Saini has directed officials to develop a new staffing plan to ensure no school faces teacher shortages in the upcoming academic session. The government will implement teacher rationalization to maintain appropriate student-teacher ratios across all schools, emphasizing that Haryana doesn't lack teachers but needs better distribution.
Modern Infrastructure
The state is focusing on developing world-class educational facilities with modern amenities. Plans include installing solar panels on college buildings, creating smart classrooms for competitive exam preparation, and establishing reading rooms every 20 kilometers. Special attention will be given to basic facilities like drinking water and toilets in all institutions.
Cultural and Academic Integration
In alignment with the National Education Policy, the government plans to incorporate the Bhagvad Gita into the curriculum up to Class 8, aiming to enhance cultural knowledge and value education. The state is also expanding its successful Model Sanskriti Schools, which follow CBSE curriculum and offer English-medium instruction in mathematics and science.
